BCEC continues to investigate suspected salmonella
The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is continuing to investigate the cause of suspected salmonella following the hospitalisation of more than 20 attendees at a Department of Education and Training conference in late February.
Widely reported in Queensland media, around 180 school principals attending the conference contracted food poisoning.
In a statement last week Queensland Health said the number of people who have fallen sick with salmonella in Queensland this year is more than double the average.

AIME 2015
Pain Conference kicks off in Brisbane
More than 700 specialist doctors, GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, neurologists, psychologists, pharmacologists and other health care professionals are about to descend on Brisbane for the 35th annual Australian Pain Society Conference.
The conference, which is being hosted at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, has a number of international renowned guest speakers covering topics from spinal cord stimulation to cannabinoids in clinical pain management.
With such a diverse array of topics covered by world renowned specialists, it is sure to produce animated discussions during the networking sessions, says Dianna Crebbin from DC Conferences.

Judging has finished in the MEA 2014 state and national awards. Finalists have been notified and everyone is looking forward to the state awards events which will take place later this month.
This year MEA received more entries than ever to their state and national awards, with numbers up by 20 per cent.

VIC - March 26
SA - March 27
WA - March 31
National winners will be announced on Hamilton Island at the annual conference on Tuesday, May 26.

Macau incentive support program wins friends
Macau’s efforts in wooing incentive groups from Australia have taken a giant stride forward, as found at AIME.
Interest in the Incentive Travel Stimulation Program for groups of 50 was roundly received on the Macau stand as the program enables groups to receive a maximum support of MOP300 (about $A45) per participant.
The financial assistance applies to those incentive travel groups who stayed two consecutive nights in a Macau hotel and include complimentary tourist information kits and welcome gifts, promotional video on Macau and free admission to the Wine and Macau Grand Prix museums.
Incentive activities, team building activities, award dinners and even local transportation are activities eligible for claiming the support.
