Federal minister Dan Tehan responds to micenet
By Joyce DiMascio
As reported last week, micenet put a series of questions to federal minister for trade, tourism and investment Dan Tehan seeking clarification about support for the business events sector.

EVENT unveils new hotel brand
Event Hospitality & Entertainment (EVENT) has announced the launch of a new brand designed for independent hotels in Australia and New Zealand: Independent Collection by EVENT.
Over the past 18 months, EVENT has secured a number of agreements for independent hotels such as the Oval Hotel in Adelaide and the Victoria Hotel in Melbourne, which will form part of this portfolio.
Also making up the portfolio are The Ultimo; The Tank Stream; Yarra Valley Lodge and Pensione Hotel.
Every hotel in the collection will celebrate its own individual brand and unique guest experience, and be categorised under four pillars: luxe, style, classic and comfort.
