AIME launches Associations Round Table
For its 2020 show, the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has launched an Associations Round Table – an initiative to challenge associations.
The Round Table is an invitation-only event connecting C-suite executives from more than 40 organisations across the Asia Pacific region and internationally. Sessions will host engaging discussions, debates and workshops – to create new community and business models that drive association innovation.
Leading the initiative, Jay Martens, event director of Talk2 Media and Events said “In today’s hyperconnected digital world, our industry has, and will, face challenges. The Associations Round Table will link key players in the industry to not only discuss these challenges, but also to reinvent and redefine the way they communicate and co-operate.”

Vale Maureen Christie
It is with great sadness and a sense of loss for many working in the special events industry in Australia of the passing of Maureen Christie (nee Blake) recently following a long battle with cancer.
Maureen owned Maureen Christie Special Events for many years, based in Balmain, and was renowned for her creativity and flair.
Meg Fisher, manager events & protocol at Local Government NSW, recalls Maureen worked on many of her events and describes her as a great colleague, peer and friend.
At a service in her honour, Maureen’s youngest daughter reflected on her mother as “an incredible woman, a force of nature, loyal and a loving friend and mother. Her laughter and her creative soul will be sadly missed. I feel blessed she was my mother. The lessons she taught me I carry with pride. Your love will always live on in our hearts.”
She is survived by her daughters Melissa and Pearl, sons-in-law, nephews and nieces, grandchildren and many lifelong friends.
RIP Maureen.
