Sri Lanka now off the radar for business events
The tragic Easter bombings in Sri Lanka has now taken the destination described by Lonely Planet as the top country to visit in 2019 off the table for the business event sector for the foreseeable future.
Just prior to Easter micenet was invited by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau to participate in a famil to the country in May that was designed to create greater awareness of local MICE capabilities. At the time of going to press we are yet to hear whether that famil is still going ahead.
micenet sends it deepest condolences to all those affected by the terrorist attacks.

Workshop Events creates 'spooky' Town Hall gig
Beetlejuice playing the Addams Family theme song on the Centennial Hall grand organ isn’t seen at your standard corporate event. But it was at a recent Workshop Events (WE) one held in Sydney Town Hall.
The ‘Chillin' with the villains’ concept was requested by WE’s adventurous client. Guests were greeted by a human red back spider, ate black charcoal bun sliders, had their photo taken by the wicked Queen’s mirror, and tested their skills on the Terminator pinball machine.
Thumbs up to WE and the client for creating something really different.
