ICC Sydney's record breaking second year

A Deloitte Access Economics study has determined delegates attending events at the ICC Sydney generated $820m in direct expenditure for the state in its second year of operation - an increase of $35m from its first year.

International and interstate visitors helped generate 72 per cent of the total expenditure, resulting in more than 1.57 million overnight stays in Sydney accommodation and the creation of 5248 full-time equivalent jobs for the local economy.

NSW Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Victor Dominello, said the results of the study demonstrated the remarkable success of the centre since opening in December 2016. Image courtesy of Anna Kucera.

`My mum does adult parties' - best MEA NSW acceptance ever

The MEA NSW Awards went off at Luna Park last night with big winners including Arinex, Forum Meetings & Events, Lateral Events and Belle Laide Events.

While MC Andrew Daddo did a stellar job, the comment of the night came from award winner Monica Dolso from SongDivision who shared with the audience that her daughter had just started kindergarten. When the teacher asked her what her mum did she proudly said "my mum does adult parties". It brought the house down.

Congratulations to all award winners and those who entered - apparently more than in the last couple of years.
