This Is Gold Coast Business Exchange hits the mark
Thirty something corporate and association meeting planners couldn't have asked for a better showcase of the Gold Coast than at last week's This Is Gold Coast Business Exchange with operators pulling out all the stops to give them plenty of wow.
The 'Team Gold Coast' approach saw participants engage in one-on-one meetings with operators and experience some of the best the city has to offer as it primps and preens itself in preparation for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
A highlight had to be a private dolphin show preceded by a school choir at Sea World (pictured) followed by dinner and then arcade games where it seemed like everyone was a winner. micenet will have a full report of the event in an upcoming edition.

Jill Varley & the Hobbit
MEETINGS on right now in NZ
There's serious business going on in Auckland right now and the odd chuckle as micenet's deputy editor Jill Varley encounters a Hobbit during the 2017 outing of MEETINGS.
This year's MEETINGS exhibition has even had the Deputy PM walking the floor proving that some governments do seem to give a damn about the value of the business event sector.
Jill will be writing up her experience in the next edition of micenet.
New Christchurch Centre
Christchurch centre plans released
While excitement may be building for the opening of Auckland's international convention centre in 2019, Christchurch certainly doesn't want to be forgotten, with plans launched this week on its new landmark facility.
Designed by international firm Woods Bagot, the Christchurch centre promises to be a venue of outstanding architectural significance. General manager Rob McIntyre says the convention centre will be a dream space for organisers and delegates, designed with a distinctive South Island flavour.
It will have a seating capacity of 2000 with an expected opening of late 2019.
