fortnightly bite-sized news and ideas for the corporate event planner

Target Qualified Buyers with our new Plan Events e-newsletter

Target the corporate meeting and event planner who is less involved in the business events industry on a day-to-day basis but is equally important through our new KEEP CALM fortnightly e-newsletter.

We believe that these people, while heavily involved in business events, do not play an active role in the business events community, with many not members or participants in industry association events, and rarely taking part in famil programs or site inspections.

To that end, we’ve created a separate database to distribute this e-newsletter nationally, and are including content that we believe will give them tips, advice, event planning tricks from industry experts along with special deals available at hotels, venues and suppliers.

To target qualified buyers in this new e-newsletter contact us for further discussion.

Meetings at sea just got better with Silversea

Silversea has announced the biggest fleet-wide refurbishment plan in its history, worth US$170 million. This investment is not aimed at simply maintaining Silversea's self-imposed high levels of excellence, but to reaffirm the company's commitment to exceptional standards of guest comfort and timeless elegance.

Registration kiosks

AV1 and Entegy have just launched these cool new registration kiosks that allow exhibition visitors or event delegates to print their own badges when they arrive on-site. Called Sprintr, they can reduce queues, misprints and wasted time.

You just can’t throw your work colleague in a swimming pool at an event. The Fair Work Commission has upheld the sacking of a worker who pushed a fully-clothed colleague into a pool recently.

i want to know about running events in:

 quick fix

• Event apps can work well for meetings but ensure you also offer paper-based options for those who are less tech-savvy.

• Forget sending questions to speakers via twitter or special hashtags, try asking delegates to switch off mobile phones during presentations for greater engagement.

• For large meetings colour-code delegate badges so everybody knows who the first-timers are and invite others to welcome them to the event on the first coffee break.
