fortnightly bite-sized news and ideas for the corporate event planner

Target Qualified Buyers with our new Plan Events e-newsletter

Target the corporate meeting and event planner who is less involved in the business events industry on a day-to-day basis but is equally important through our new KEEP CALM fortnightly e-newsletter.

We believe that these people, while heavily involved in business events, do not play an active role in the business events community, with many not members or participants in industry association events, and rarely taking part in famil programs or site inspections.

To that end, we’ve created a separate database to distribute this e-newsletter nationally, and are including content that we believe will give them tips, advice, event planning tricks from industry experts along with special deals available at hotels, venues and suppliers.

To target qualified buyers in this new e-newsletter contact us for further discussion.

What's Hot

Good coffee at conferences

Forget that percolated stuff, today’s conference delegate wants a good coffee made by an experienced barista. Especially if they’re expected to sit through days of conference sessions. At the PCOA conference in Brisbane last week, organisers made a great decision to bring in the Coffee on Cue mobile coffee folks. The company has affiliations all around the country.

You know things aren’t working right when you have to stand in a queue to attend an event for over an hour because the venue operators are having trouble with their fancy iPads. But that happened recently for one of our staffers attending an event. Sometimes the old fashioned way – a pen and a list – can work considerably better.

 hot speaker

You don’t often think of a futurist as funny but we have to tell you that Gihan Perera is way funny and plenty smart. He’d make a great addition to any companies looking to the future in their business.

Google the dude!

 entertain me

A good MC should be entertaining and keep the conference on track and we discovered at a recent conference that Warwick Merry does that and more. He’ll even sing you a tune if you ask him nicely.

 i want to know about:

 quick fix

• Save on venue hire and hold your end-of-year Christmas event in your office. Theme it up, order catering and bring in some alcohol. Merry Christmas!

• Get your staffers using Uber instead of taxis. The money you save could be put in a fund for bi-monthly Friday drinks.

• Encourage staffers to undertake short courses in various forms of event management. They’ll bring new ideas to the table and be inspired to do great things.

• Nobody can do everything. Outsource key areas of your activity in things like copywriting or marketing to allow you to get on with what you’re good at.
