fortnightly bite-sized news and ideas for the corporate event planner

Target Qualified Buyers with our new Plan Events e-newsletter
Target the corporate meeting and event planner who is less involved in the business events industry on a day-to-day basis but is equally important through our new KEEP CALM fortnightly e-newsletter.
We believe that these people, while heavily involved in business events, do not play an active role in the business events community, with many not members or participants in industry association events, and rarely taking part in famil programs or site inspections.
To that end, we’ve created a separate database to distribute this e-newsletter nationally, and are including content that we believe will give them tips, advice, event planning tricks from industry experts along with special deals available at hotels, venues and suppliers.
To target qualified buyers in this new e-newsletter contact us for further discussion.

What's Hot
Video the medium of choice
Video is fast-becoming the medium of choice at events, with savvy planners mixing in live presentations with pre-filmed video footage. At this week’s Dreamtime 2015 gala dinner created by Tourism Australia with assistance from Belle Laide Events in Adelaide, video footage interviews of produce suppliers were shown before each course was served. It added a new dimension to the event and worked incredibly effectively.
Mind hiring plants to enhance your event stage if they have been stored outdoors. We heard of one event that saw delegates holding their noses when the house lights were turned up as the unmistakeable smell of cat urine – that was obviously on the plants – permeated the space. Yuck!

DO: Hire an artist who lives in the region your conference is being held to paint a picture during a morning, afternoon or lunch break. People are fascinated by an artist working live and when completed you can auction the painting off or donate it to a local charity.

i want to know about running events in:
 quick fix
• Surprise and delight your event attendees at the very start. Don’t leave your best to last; you may have lost them well before that.
• If you’re looking at ways of saving money at your events consider teaming up with one winemaker who may be happy to promote a new brand or product at a reduced cost if your group fits with their demographic.
• Event management companies are creative for a reason. If you have a vision utilise them to come up with something above and beyond. It’s their job!
